Cleat Setup

Tools Required

4mm hex key, torque wrench, waterproof grease

  1. Revo-DHC pedals come factory set with minimum spring tension. We recommend leaving it at this tension, to help with setting the cleat position.
  2. If you have previously used your shoes with this kind of two-bolt cleat, remove the old cleat and position the new Renthal cleat in the same position, with arrow pointing forward. Place the double washer plate on the cleat, with the countersunk side facing out. Grease the threads of the screws and tighten in sequence to a torque of 5-6Nm.
  3. If your shoes are new and unused, then place the cleat in a central position on the shoe and initially tighten to 2.5Nm, so the cleat can be easily adjusted.
  4. Ride on level ground and identify where the ideal cleat position is. When you have achieved this, tighten the cleat to 5-6Nm.
  5. If the sole of your shoe contacts the top face of the pedal, affecting engagement, you will need to add a cleat spacer, available separately (part number PDS12-01).
  6. If the rubber sole of your shoe contacts the binding on release, then the rubber material will need to be trimmed to clear the binding.
  7. Check cleat screw torque after the first ride and at regular intervals, thereafter.
